We're driven by our values - We Grow Together, We Keep Things Simple, We Get Stuff Done. We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to partner with the Engineering team at our Quality Bakers manufacturing site in East Tamaki – New Zealand's largest plant bakery.
As HSE Manager you will work with the Engineering team to drive safety culture, improve environmental performance, maintain legal compliance and reduce the number & frequency of safety incidents through providing leadership, planning and advice.
Key accountabilities of the role include: Develop and drive HSE improvement initiatives to embed a 'Safety First' culture in the Engineering team where people clearly demonstrate safe behaviours.Reduce injuries, oversee and deliver injury management and early intervention processes, identify and manage hazards and role model WALK and TALK requirements.Ensure risk assessments are completed and SOPs are developed, including ensuring all employees are trained in the SOPs.Complete internal audit requirements and manage corrective actions completed.Note: This is a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months through to the beginning of 2026. About You In order to make this role a success we are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager with a passion for driving cultural change and uplifting safety capabilities with experience in a complex manufacturing or engineering environment.
Other experience and qualifications we are looking for include: Relevant HSE workplace experience in an operational, manufacturing or engineering environment.Experience in training and coaching teams and driving a Safety First culture.Technical writing ability to document work instructions and SOPs.Experience with Permit to Work, high-risk JSA's, I-cam investigations and contractor management.You will be joining a driven team of professionals who genuinely enjoy working together resulting in a highly collaborative and flexible work environment making some of New Zealand's most loved baked brands.
