To reach that future we have a unique new opportunity for an Environment and Sustainability Lead to join the Environmental and Sustainability team! That's where your work will deliver opportunities on-farm to help our suppliers access and act on sustainability opportunities for the future benefit of their farm businesses.The Environmental and Sustainability team's mission is to give our farmers choices to navigate change through sustainability solutions that work for their businesses and the environment. In this role, you will lead interaction and delivery of projects aligned to our customer requirements. These projects will start with greenhouse gases, and may cross different environmental areas over time, and will go from project conception and design, to implementation and ongoing management.Some of the key responsibilities include: • Lead the identification, design and implementation of projects, systems and services to ensure that our suppliers have the support they require to meet the aspirations of our customers on their greenhouse gas reduction road-maps.• Provide thought leadership for the delivery of Open Country's environmental sustainability goals, ensuring that development of tools and systems aligns with local, national and international commitments and expectations both from within Open Country and our farmer suppliers.• Lead the management and delivery of data for greenhouse gas emissions calculations of our supplying farms, linking closely with other team members to continuously improve the process. • Leading external and internal stakeholder relationships to ensure that our tools and services align with expected performance and future aspirations and drive the uptake of our systems and processes.About YouThe perfect candidate will possess strong knowledge of dairy farming, greenhouse gases on dairy farms, and environmental best practices. Qualifications in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability or similar is ideal with experience in this area and project management. Enthusiasm for making positive change in the world that works for our farmer suppliers is a must. Alongside your technical expertise, the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders is needed.
