MIT's Secondary Tertiary High is an exciting secondary school structure that functions within MIT and offers Y11–13 rangatahi a second chance to re-engage with NCEA Levels 1-3.
A high school different from a mainstream school setting. With a small roll (200) and a low teacher-student ratio, our purpose is to manaaki our rangatahi for whom mainstream high schools are not meeting their needs. We provide a high level of pastoral care and dedicated teaching time, and plenty of whanau involvement. If you thrive on motivating and engaging rangatahi to achieve academic success and are an English teacher with at least 2 years of secondary school experience with a passion for vocational education, read on.
What are we looking for? A successful applicant with a current teacher registration.
Proven recent teaching experience with NCEA in a NZ secondary school.
Recent experience in assessing NCEA English from Y11 to 13.
Teaching qualification.
Experience in teaching within a collegial collaborative project-based teaching environment.
