We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join us as the Programme Leader.
Our schools have been delivering English Language Programmes focused on international and domestic learners, refugees, and migrant communities for decades.
These programmes support refugees and migrants to make a positive contribution to society, promote their individual and social wellbeing and their communities.Job Overview:As the Programme Leader, you will play a crucial role in the academic management of our institutions.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the teaching and learning component of our programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards.Key Responsibilities:Management of Teaching Staff: Lead teacher recruitment, development, and induction, oversee staff meetings, professional development sessions, and teacher cover.
Manage HR tasks, including checks and references, and conduct appraisals and disciplinary procedures as needed.Academic Administration: Maintain optimal class averages, allocate teachers, and oversee class timetabling, student placement, and testing.
Manage the library and computer suite, ensuring access to self-study materials, and develop and order learning resources for teachers and students.
Ensure assessment and moderation policies are adhered to.
Oversee programme reviews and reporting to the Board and the Programme Advisory Committees.Student Welfare & Academic Support: Conduct interviews and tests for prospective students, coordinate examinations and certificates, and manage termly self-assessment processes.
Offer academic support, counsel students on academic matters, and liaise with accommodation and administrative staff.Operations: Attend conferences and training, liaise with senior management, agents, and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
Manage EER visits, including resource collation and evidence gathering.Minimum Qualifications:Master's DegreeDELTA or equivalent Adult Teaching Diploma.Completed NZQA unit standards – 4098, 11551 and 11552.Experience:Teacher recruitment and academic management experience.Broad range of teaching experience, including English for Academic Purposes and General English.Knowledge of English Language examinations (IELTS, FCE/CAE).Knowledge of NZCEL suite of qualifications, assessment design, and moderation requirements.Knowledge of The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021.Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.Organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.Accuracy and attention to detail.Experience with databases.Behaviours:Flexibility and a positive attitude.If you are ready to contribute to an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, we invite you to apply for the position of Programme Leader.To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter.
