Permanent and part-time components: 0.3 FTTE permanent and up to 0.5 FTTE fixed-term position .
Kareti o Garin is an integrated Catholic special character co-education Y9–13 college with over 650 learners. We are recognised for providing education with excellence and outstanding performance in sport and culture. Garin College embeds exciting and innovative practices that promote outstanding student leadership and engagement in an integrated BYOD learning environment.
We seek an innovative, passionate teacher with strengths and experience in teaching English language learning to students from non-English speaking backgrounds. The successful applicant will primarily be teaching English language (speaking, reading and writing) to both senior and junior International fee paying students and migrant ESOL funded students. Applicants with strengths in teaching of junior structured Literacy and Numeracy are an advantage.
The capacity to recognise learner need, identity, language, and culture and establish clear learning pathways is essential. The successful applicant will be motivated to work collaboratively with the subject teachers and support staff for each learner, which is key in promoting learner access to curriculum with confidence.
The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the ethos and special character of the college.
The successful applicant will be a NZ registered teacher and familiar with the NZ Curriculum and NCEA.
Position commencing term 1, 28 January 2025.
