Engineering Trades Tutor

The School of Construction is looking for a new tutor to join ourMechanical Engineering Trades team.

Keyresponsibilities include facilitating teaching, learning and assessment for engineeringtrades students atfoundation, pre-trade or apprentice level, with coursesincluding a strong hand-on practical learning component.

Teaching qualificationsand experience are not essential for this position however preference will begiven to applicants with some ability in teaching, coaching or mentoring youthor young adults e.g. supervising apprentices or other workers on the job.

Successful applicants without teaching qualifications will be supportedto achieve a Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching or similar tertiaryteaching qualification through on-job training and development.

Qualificationsand Experience We are looking for candidates withexperience and a broad range of skills covering light or heavy steelfabrication and MIG, TIG welding to an industry standard in aluminium andstainless and/or machining.

To be successful, you will havebroad experience in the industry and a relevant qualification

The role is based at WelTec's main campus in Petone. Applicants will berequired to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions Check in order towork with young people and should hold a current driver's license.
