Our Takapau site in Central Hawke's Bay is Silver Fern Farms largest dedicated lamb processing site, employing up to 950 people at the peak of the season.
Our Engineering team are in an exciting phase as we look to grow the capability of our team and implement a refreshed structure and processes that will enable us to continue to improve the service we provide while improving reliability at the site.
We are looking for a trade qualified electrician to join our team as the Engineering Team Leader on our evening shift.
You will lead a team in providing engineering services, maintenance and support on-site for the evening shift team.
Your role will encompass people leadership responsibilities as well as working with Production leaders to ensure all scheduled work is completed and plant maintenance issues are reacted to as needed.
You will be joining a team on the up and play a key role in implementing our vision for the Takapau site.

Our site operates both day and evening shifts Monday to Friday as well as scheduled overtime on weekends.
As we continue to grow into 2024, we will also consider alternative shift patterns as we look to implement a reliability focused engineering function.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes: Current NZ electrical registration and practising license.
Excellent technical know-how in an industrial electrical environment.
Proven experience as a "people leader" who can not only lead but bring teams together to achieve tasks collaboratively.
Have experience with communicating and working effectively with Production Leaders.
Have strong organisational and planning skills.
Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions on a timely basis.
Computer Literacy with strong software package experience would be advantageous.
Our successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a Food Processing environment and cannot just 'do the job', but to use their analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level service.
Having the ability to multitask across both the technical aspects, and the day-to-day organisation/administrative duties required of a large scale team leader.
