Engineering Team Lead

Details of the offer

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace - a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. At Tracksuit we consider a unique perspective, diverse experience and a growth mindset to be of greater value than ticking every box on a JD. If you think you have what it takes but don't have the exact experience we've set out, please still get in touch and apply. We'd love to chat! At Tracksuit we provide beautiful, radically affordable, always-on brand tracking which is easy to use compared to traditional methods. We recognise that sounds like a ton of buzzwords for marketers, so what it really means is that we did over 50,000 surveys last month to find out what real humans think and feel about the world's best brands and their competitors. Check us out here: www.gotracksuit.com Are you our next Engineering Team Lead? We're on the lookout for an Engineering Team Lead to join Tracksuit. This role will be the Engineering Team Lead for our product growth squad, focused on acquisition and activation at Tracksuit. You'll be joining an existing team that has a Senior Product Manager, Senior Product Designer, and 5x Engineers. You'll be responsible for leading our engineering efforts in this team which includes: - Working with product and design: supporting product discovery, talking to customers, engaging with the wider business, shaping a team strategy, and collectively defining the roadmap. - Leading other engineers: Managing, mentoring, and coaching other engineers in the team. - Rituals and ways of working: Owning the rituals and processes within the team. We're looking for a product-minded Engineering Lead that is: Based in Sydney or Auckland (or willing to relocate to Sydney / Auckland) and has 5+ years working in a similar role. Technically brilliant: Someone who is a true full stack developer, with experience across a wide range of technologies. These include: React, NodeJS, Typescript, Java, Python, Postgres, CDK, and AWS across different projects. You'll have extensive experience and expertise in designing, building, deploying and operating complex applications and you will be proficient in designing complex and highly scalable cloud architectures. Entrepreneurial and product-focused: Someone who can think holistically and commercially: who takes an interest in the wider business. You'll be able to collaborate with product managers, designers, and customers, as well as have the ability to focus on business outcomes and engage in discovery, not just implementation. You will think like an entrepreneur and be comfortable working independently and working with a scrappy mindset. Experimental: Someone comfortable who has and is comfortable testing growth ideas in the real world and acts like a scientist: they experiment a lot. You'll have demonstrated experience developing multiple solutions for a problem, have a testing framework, build various implementation approaches, and evaluate success, and you'll be data driven and use customer usage data to guide their work. Curious and a leader: You'll be curious to discover new opportunities, grasp new technologies, and figure out whatever they need to drive growth. You'll be a natural leader of other engineers in the team and be able to support and drive a team technically and commercially; experience in coaching, developing, and managing engineers, as well as having demonstrated ability to shape strategy and prioritise work. Kind: This is such a collaborative role that we ultimately want a great, open-minded and kind human. We think this role is exciting because you'll have high agency to design the technical solutions that work: You'll be responsible for architecting and designing scalable, reliable, and secure systems. You'll be able to think entrepreneurially, focused on business outcomes: You're not just shipping features. You're working in a team to drive acquisition and activation. That means you get to create a strategy, think holistically, and do whatever is needed to drive an outcome. You get to be experimental: designing experiments, trying new approaches to solve problems, talking to customers, doing discovery, sitting alongside product and design, and implementing solutions. We don't have a roadmap dictated to us: you'll have high-level business goals and outcomes, but it's up to you to define the problems and solutions. We're backed by product-legend Lenny Rachitsky: founder of Lenny's Podcast and Lenny's Newsletter. In Lenny's words: "Across the thousands of startup decks I've looked at, I've almost never seen a growth trajectory like the growth Tracksuit has seen." At just over 3 years old, we're incredibly grateful and excited to be working with over 450 epic brands across AU, NZ, USA, Canada and the UK. Tracksuit's vision is to be used in every strategic growth conversation for the best consumer brands of today and tomorrow. We're doing this by becoming the common language to measure and communicate the value of brand building. We've built beautiful, always-on, radically affordable brand tracking — taking an old-school, $100k+ market research product and making it 10x easier to use and 10x more affordable. We're a tight-knit, supportive, and ambitious team, driven to empower companies to use brand to drive success. Our culture thrives on complete transparency, trust, learning, and constant development and improvement. Underpinning the experience are our great benefits, including: ? Compensation: Competitive market rate remuneration, which is reviewed twice annually. Our radically transparent compensation policy ensures that salaries are fair across the entire team. ? Bonus Scheme: An annual company-wide performance bonus to celebrate hitting our targets together. ? Employee Share Option Program (ESOP): So that everyone on the team has a share in Tracksuit's success. ? Progressive health and wellness benefits: Including an annual wellness bonus, access to a premium EAP platform, and 6 weeks of paid annual leave. ? Generous parental benefits: 12 weeks' paid parental leave for either caregiver, additional sick leave for IVF, gradual return to work. ? A $1000 personal L&D budget for each Trackstar, plus additional growth opportunities including mentorships, speaking engagements, and travel. ? Flexible working: We have beautiful offices in Auckland, Sydney, London, and New York. We are office first but offer full flexibility day to day and adopt a balanced approach to WFH/in-office work. ? Most importantly, when you join, you'll receive an epic Tracksuit which reflects our vibe. We are built for speed and comfort, we're fun and informal, and we're practical and ready for anything.
