About the RoleThis is a pivotal, hands-on role that leads a cross-functional development team tasked with the ongoing development and maintenance of the Spidertracks application suite.
Leverage your own expertise as well as that of your team to shape crucial technology decisions, champion best design and development practices within the team, while advocating for necessary technical enhancements to ensure the platform remains maintainable, scalable, and performant.In collaboration with other engineering leads and reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this role assumes a pivotal position in defining and executing the product and technical roadmap, addressing platform concerns, and strategically positioning us for future growth and innovation.Operating within a build and run team framework, your experience in deploying and maintaining applications in the cloud will prove invaluable in continually refining our deployment and maintenance processes.
The successful candidate must possess the requisite developer experience across the full-stack domain, a track record of successfully managing the delivery of a team as well as building and growing the capabilities of members in the team.What you'll need:A minimum of 3 years experience leading an engineering team and at least 5 years developing and maintaining web-based applications and API services.Strong grasp of cloud-based technologies, with a preference for AWS, and demonstrable expertise in managing cloud resourcesA commitment to continuous self-improvement and a willingness to foster the growth of others.Desire to drive continuous improvement in the team's capabilities and processes, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey ideas and facilitate discussions across various stakeholders within the organisation.Outstanding personal organisation and time management abilities, including the capacity to multitask effectively and meet project deadlines consistently.What we bring: A hybrid working environment that provides a lot of flexibility for a great work life balance.A passionate team looking for ways to add value to our clients with a determination to develop market-leading products.A sense of responsibility to our people and a willingness to help them grow in their career.What next?
