About the role An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering, Services & Energy Lead to join the Retail & Property team to manage all aspects of building engineering, building services and energy use across our portfolio to ensure we deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, suppliers and store owners. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be required to provide support, technical advice and guidance in all matters regarding refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, hydraulic and other systems. This role will also encompass an element of research and development in regard to new technologies, systems, regulations and design to ensure that both Foodstuffs, and our members, are compliant with industry standards as well as reflecting new innovations and developments within the industry. About you We're looking for someone with: A track record in leadership, and the ability to maintain relationships and influence your immediate team, key stakeholders and the senior leadership team. Broad design & construction industry experience and awareness of evolving market conditions in NZ as relates to engineering & services consultants, suppliers, and authorities. Bachelor's degree in Construction / Engineering or a related field, or at least ten (10) years' experience in a technical services / engineering management role. At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a technical services / engineering management capacity with experience in coaching and influencing others. Experience in design management, consultant management and stakeholder management. Sound knowledge of business management principles, practices and procedures and strong negotiation skills. The successful applicant will be required to work closely with our members in resolving utility related issues, installation of new equipment, capital projects and/or process improvement initiatives as well as address issues that arise which could adversely impact the operational performance of the stores. There will be some travel around the South Island required in the role. We encourage you to apply anyway.
