We are on a mission to decarbonize the zinc industry and have developed a technology that produces high-purity zinc with 95% fewer emissions and at half the cost of current recycling methods. This has been proven at the pilot scale, and we are now scaling up to reach commercial operations.

About the Role:
We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join our energetic and passionate team. You will work closely with and be reporting to the Head of Engineering, acting as the 2IC for the project and site operations.
You would be getting involved on the ground floor of the Demonstration Plant project, with the breadth of work spanning (but not limited to), design and install (civil, mechanical, electrical, automation, and process), resource consenting, equipment procurement, contractor management, plant operations, championing safety, and collaborating with the broader technical team.

As Engineering Project Manager, your role will be full of variety:
Managing projects, contractors, and consultants to achieve the successful construction, commissioning, and operations of Zincovery's Demonstration Plant.
Opportunity to get hands-on, commissioning and operating the demonstration plant during our campaigns to maintain continuous operation for at least weeks at a time.
Championing Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality, contributing to their culture, initiatives, and reporting.
Coordinating with suppliers.
General operational and maintenance duties.
Stepping in for the Head of Engineering as required.
Routine travel to Zincovery HQ in Christchurch.
As our Engineering Project Manager, you would ideally bring:
Chemical Engineering Honours Degree (Chemical & Materials or Chemical & Process) or equivalent. Applicants with a different background, but a strong understanding of relevant processes and a proven track record in the industry are also encouraged to apply.
5+ Years experience in a relevant project management or process engineering role.
Experience operating, scheduling, or leading manufacturing plants.
Strong time management skills, well organized and dependable.
Proven contractor or people management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A willingness to learn new skills across the manufacturing environment, and not be afraid to get your hands dirty.
Eagerness to grow with the company and willingness to ultimately work on international projects.
A passion for sustainability.
The following skills and experience would also be advantageous:
Experience in the zinc mining or refining industry.
Experience in other mining and metals industries.
Experience in resource consenting and compliance certifying.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, dynamic team, working full-time based on our industrial site located in Glenbrook, Auckland.
The ideal start date is early 2025.
