This is a unique opportunity to join AWS as a Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) in Auckland.
You will support our Data Centre facilities and the critical equipment that keeps us running.
This includes LV electrical lineups, diesel power generators, HVAC and fire suppression systems.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the critical infrastructure, supervising specialist vendors, acting as first responders to incidents, and becoming subject matter experts for the facility.
Key Job Responsibilities As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, your responsibilities will include: Reviewing the management of both routine and corrective maintenance on a variety of critical systems such as: switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
Managing the on-site management of vendors and sub-contractors, ensuring that all work performed is observing established practices, procedures & local legislation.
Establishing performance benchmarks, conducting analyses & preparing reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.
Creating and implementing projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
Additional Role Requirements This role may involve bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
This role has a rostered on-call requirement to provide 24x7 support.
This may change based on the future needs of the business.
Due to the location of our sites, candidates should possess a valid driver's license and their own vehicle.
