About you:
As the Engineering Manager in Cloud ERP, a subdivision of The Access Group's ERP Division, you will be a key leader, responsible for driving the successful delivery of our inventory management software. Our focus is on unifying our existing products, delivering a seamless user experience and continuing to meet our customer's evolving needs. You will lead and inspire a geographically distributed team of product engineers in Auckland and Kuala Lumpur, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions, while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. This role will be based in our Auckland office, working with teams based in Malaysia and the UK. You'll report to the divisional Head of Engineering, who is UK based.
Day-to-day, your key responsibilities will be:

Team Leadership & Development – attract, develop and retain high-performing engineering teams in both Auckland and Kuala Lumpur – providing mentorship, careers paths and opportunities for growth.
Operational Excellence – ensure the engineering teams in both locations have the necessary resources, support and alignment needed for smooth software delivery.
Cross-Team Collaboration – build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, quality standards and technical dependencies.
Product Delivery – drive the day to day delivery of software, ensuring adherence to deadlines and the technical direction set by the Head of Technology & Architecture. Partner with the product team to understand customer needs and translate them to actionable solutions.
Technical Strategy – ensure the Unleashed engineering vision aligns with the broader divisional strategy and overall technical direction, identifying opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing across the wider Cloud ERP product suite.
Regional Expansion – play a key role in the expansion of the KL engineering office, fostering a strong engineering culture that aligns with the Access global values.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement – implement effective measurement systems to track productivity, quality and customer satisfaction across both locations. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process, tools and team performance.

Your skills and experiences might also include:

Experienced Leader: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering leadership, preferably within SaaS or inventory management domains, with a proven ability to manage distributed teams.
People-Focused: Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams across multiple locations, foster collaboration, and inspire excellence in others.
Technical Acumen: Strong technical background with experience in cloud-based software development and modern engineering practices.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders in different time zones and cultures.
Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically about the long-term vision of the product and the engineering team, while balancing immediate priorities.
Results-Oriented: Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget, with experience managing geographically distributed teams.
