Job Description - Engineering Manager - Hydropower (HOB0001):About the jobWorley is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Engineering Managers who have worked on hydropower infrastructure projects.
You will partner closely with our client to provide oversight, stewardship and co-ordination of the current engineering and design activities in preparation for release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Electrical & Mechanical equipment package and also for the EPC Contract.
The role will form part of an Integrated Owner's Team and will involve co-ordination of multiple engineering organisations currently involved in the project, and subsequently the engineering / design to be performed by the EPC Contractor during the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase and the Execution Phase post FID.This role can be based in either Brisbane, Melbourne or Hobart, with considerable time to be spent in Hobart.When you work for us, you get the chance to join nearly 50,000 people all driven by a common purpose – delivering a more sustainable world.

We solve complex problems by finding integrated data-centric solutions from the first stages of engineering and consulting to the last stages of installation and commissioning.Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.What you'll doAs the Project Engineering Manager with Worley you will: Lead the engineering performed by the various organisations on the project.Co-ordinate the management of interdiscipline engineering interfaces.Co-ordinate the management of interorganisational engineering interfaces.Steward the progress of the Reference Design completion.Steward the engineering assurance process.Co-ordinate engineering input to the RFP for the E & M equipment and also for the EPC contracts.
Provide input to specifying the design requirements for the ECI Phase and for EPC detailed engineering.Facilitate technical bid evaluations for the E&M equipment supply and the EPC Contract.Provide oversight, stewardship and reviews of the E&M equipment design and the ECI Contractor design deliverables.Co-ordinate other engineering support tasks including for Early Works scope development, approvals and other project functions to enable progression of the overall project.
What you'll have Recognised Engineering Degree qualifications.Proven engineering management experience in Hydro Power or associated industries.Senior level experience of engineering of hydropower facilities.Technical knowledge of hydropower facilities, including Electrical & Mechanical Equipment and overall system design.
Extensive technical, practical and commercial experience including proven ability in leading multidiscipline activities.Ability to co-ordinate activities of multiple engineering organisations working on a Project.Have a proactive approach to managing engineering and design.Excellent communication (verbal & written) and leadership skills.Be self-motivated, self-starter and have a solution driven approach.
