WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
As the Avionics Development Engineer II, you'll be a key figure in our engineering team developing, testing, and deploying state-of-the-art avionics hardware and systems. The Engineer II is a highly technical go-to person, and point of contact for issues, questions, and design changes for nominated projects. This position requires strong technical skills in electronic circuit design, PCB design, and environmental testing at the component level.
This includes but is not limited to flight computers, FPGAs, RF systems, and components used in guidance, navigation, and control. Our fundamental goal is to ensure our payloads reach orbit on time, every time while maintaining the safety of the public. Your role working with avionics hardware is critical to this mission, and the main line of defense to ensure the quality and reliability in a fast-paced production environment.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
5+ years relevant industry experience.
5+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering.
3+ years of programming experience, preferably in Python, LabView, or C/C++
Proven trouble-shooting skills, ability to make recommendations with limited data, and demonstrated good engineering judgment by evaluating all options.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
Knowledge of FMECA and experience with change management systems.
Experience in designing hardware (including analog, digital, or mixed-signal PCBs) from concept through production, and knowledge of environmental design testing (such as vibration, shock, thermal, and TVAC).
Understanding of design for manufacture and manufacturing techniques for electronic components and electrical systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing materials for external distribution.
