Te mahi/The role This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced developer to provide expert design capability and specialist software development lifecycle (SDLC) skills, including systems analysis, sizing and scoping, skill requirements, software design, development, testing and defect management, maintenance and release/deployment.
You will work within our student management platforms and technologies to provide expert-level technical advice and solutions that ensure our student management system continues to operate in a functional, stable, and fully integrated manner.
Clear and open collaboration and communication with stakeholders, analysts and software engineers is a key aspect of this role, as you'll be working with cross-functional teams to identify solutions.
Your focus on design, client experience, service excellence, and strategic thinking is crucial for success in this role.
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have: A tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline or recognised qualification(s) appropriate to the role.Considerable experience in a software development role using relevant technologies, including strong database, coding and scripting knowledge.A good understanding of database design and development.Proven experience analysing and translating user requirements into software and systems to achieve client-focused business solutions.Proven experience in change and release management processes; and writing technical and functional documentation.Experience in agile development.Experience with a range of relevant web frameworks and development environments.At the University of Otago, you will be joining the team responsible for empowering our future of New Zealand thinkers every day.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position, located in Dunedin.
The appointment range for this role is $82,181 to $89,057 per annum.
Top of the range is $94,211.
