We are a kaupapa Maori trust based in Tahuna (Queenstown), New Zealand. We deliver a range of services across five core pou; Health and Social Services, Rangatahi Services, Employment/Training Services, Te Ao Maori and Mahi Taiao. Mana Tahuna has the privilege of creating a safe, supportive environment for our whanau to connect, grow, be healthy and thrive as Maori in Tahuna. Fulfilling our mission to manaaki tangata - we provide a range of pastoral care, youth services and rehabilitative services to all whanau in Queenstown-Lakes. We also have Wai Whakaata. We have a dedicated team of kaimahi that take on various roles to contribute to the clean up of one of our beautiful roto!Reporting to the CEO, the Engagement Manager will play a critical role in creating and increasing strong connections and engagement with the Maori, Pasifika and wider community in Tahuna and Central Otago. The successful candidate will drive the Trust's communication and marketing plan, increase online and social media presence, whilst also planning and leading engagement activities with whanau in Tahuna. The position will involve planning, coordinating and managing Mana Tahuna's community engagement initiatives moving whanau into our services, improving the social wellbeing of the Maori, Pasifika and wider community.Tasks will include: Drive the Trust's communications and marketing planDrive our communications across all Mana Tahuna Pou and subsidiaries Manage our customer and client communications through newsletters, responding to comments and messages and any other meansManage funding proposals and reporting Identify and implement recommendations for future fundraising opportunitiesManage partnership and sponsorship agreements and activities Lead and support kaimahi in the planning phase of wananga and community eventsOversee and enhance our media presence by developing strong relationships with key stakeholders Increase footprint across popular social media channels (eg. FB, IG, LinkedIn)Plan, lead and manage the Trust's digital and print advertising and marketing strategies Oversee all online channels including websitesConnect with whanau members within the local community and wider areaEnsure initiatives improve the wellbeing of the communityBudget initiatives accordingly and effectively to achieve outcomes outlinedThis is a permanent part-time position with 20 hours per week guaranteed, but could be up to 32 hours depending on engagement initiatives and projects.The skills, attitudes and knowledge required for this position are as follows:Qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Marketing, PR).Experience in stakeholder engagement, public relations or similar role, preferably within a charitable trust or community organisation.Knowledge of health and social services, Rangatahi services, and mahi Taiao services is an advantage.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of kaupapa Maori and Te Ao Maori and ability Able to operate effectively within a kaupapa Maori environment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in Te Reo Maori, are advantageous.Have a whanau-centered approach.Proven ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies.Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and community outreach.Able to plan, organise and run community based initiatives effectively, safely and efficiently. Good ability to meet outcomes and targets around community engagement.
