Engagement and Events Coordinator – Hundertwasser Art CentreWe are looking for a passionate and experienced fundraising and events management expert who would like to work in one of the most beautiful buildings in Whangarei, the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Maori Art Gallery. The Centre presents the Austrian New Zealand artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser's artistic legacy, highlighting his time in New Zealand. It is also the home of the Wairau Maori Art Gallery, the first dedicated public Maori art gallery in the world, Aqua Restaurant, an Activity Centre, a small film theatre, MuseumShop and Afforested Roof.The Engagement and Events Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with businesses, donors and communities that support the Hundertwasser Art Centre. The Engagement and Events Coordinator will drive our various engagement initiatives including sponsorship, donor acquisitions, the membership programme, grant applications and event bookings. The role is envisaged to be 24 hours per week on average.Specific duties and responsibilitiesBuild strong relationships with businesses and supporters of the Hundertwasser Art Centre and source and negotiate sponsorship and partnership arrangements for events and programmes.Build a donor acquisition programme, from proposal development through to implementation. Create fundraising campaigns with targeted communications to various donor groups.Revamp the Friends of the Hundertwasser Art Centre membership programme, inviting community engagement and maintaining relationships through regular communication and events.Draw on a deep understanding of the grant funding landscape in New Zealand to develop an annual grant strategy and prepare grant applications.Build and maintain a database that holds all key donor, member, sponsor and partner information.Drive event bookings at the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Maori Art Gallery, acting as key liaison with external and internal stakeholders.Assist with the organisation of any private or public events at the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Maori Art Gallery, this may include planning and promotion and onsite duties to ensure the smooth running of the event.Be a positive and professional ambassador for the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Maori Art Gallery.Ensure we honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, The Treaty of Waitangi.Feel comfortable working in a multicultural and multilingual workplace.About youMinimum 3 years' experience working in relationship management, fundraising or events management.Degree in arts, business, public relations, marketing or communications preferred.Knowledge of FINZ and other fundraising initiatives in New Zealand.Willing to learn more about Hundertwasser's philosophy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent time management and organisational ability.Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office, experience working with a Customer Relationship Management system.A proactive self-starter with innovative ideas and an enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.An interest in the visual arts.
