About The opportunity | Ko te aheinga: Hawke's Bay Regional Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Advisor to join our Regional Projects team within the Asset Management Group. In this role, you will proactively support the Council's flood protection infrastructure rebuild projects and the Communications & Engagement Team. You will lead engagement by advising on process, strategy, and engagement, enabling the team to deliver projects in a timely manner. This position is responsible for building an understanding of key stakeholder groups, being a point of contact for concerned community members, answering specific inquiries, and setting up and running regular community meetings as needed.
About you | E pa ana ki a koe: The ideal candidate will have a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification and/or 2-3 years of experience in a similar role or relevant industry. You should have a demonstrated ability to deliver effective program coordination and an understanding of and experience in local government. You must possess excellent administrative abilities, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment is essential.

The salary range for this role is between $76,230 to $84,700 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. This is a high-performing and motivated team of professionals that you will be joining, offering an opportunity to experience working within local government and supporting the recovery work from Cyclone Gabrielle.
