This is mahi that will improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in Aotearoa, and we have got an opportunity for you to be part of itTe whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.We have two permanent, full-time opportunities available to join our team as Smokefree Enforcement Officer. These roles are critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) with compliance activities related to Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990. The role will see you taking action in accordance with our national strategy, plan and evidence-based approach to compliance activity. Working effectively with systems and processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance activity.You are someone with experience in an enforcement role where you have used sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. You will be experienced in regulation or compliance and have worked to support project delivery.A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Law, Health, Public Administration or ComplianceAble to apply subject matter expertise in Regulatory approaches and/or Smokefree and Regulated products legislationProven experience in the regulation or compliance spaceUnderstanding and experience working in partnership with Pacific communitiesPrevious health sector or government experience and knowledge of government structuresAdvanced organization, planning and time management skills able to reprioritize and react to issues and demanding situationsA commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
