Permanent 3 days ago, from Synlait Milk Limited (NS) We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Centre Operator to join our utilities team at our Dunsandel plant on a permanent basis. This position manages our day-to-day supply of energy, utility services, and effluent treatment to enable raw milk to be processed. This role involves taking responsibility for our highly automated processes on site: Steam Boilers (including coal, biomass, and electric), Water Treatment systems, Refrigeration systems, Compressed Air systems, Packing Gas systems, Reverse Osmosis systems, and Wastewater treatment systems. You will be in a hands-on role where you will need to monitor key performance indicators such as energy unit efficiencies, rate, quality, and plant availability. Our shifts allow for plenty of flexibility and work-life balance with 4 days off between shifts. Based on a rotational roster, you will be on the shift pattern below: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off (12.5 hour shifts). Main Responsibilities Actively manage largest electricity points of use for energy improvement, i.e., Refrigeration, Compressed Air, Electrode Boiler, etc., as well as identifying energy-saving opportunities. Effective operation of all utility plants from generation to point of use. Responsibility for the generation and distribution of energy services and meeting customer volume and quality standards. Maximise energy effectiveness and personal safety by the successful optimisation of standard operating procedures. Key to your success will be your knowledge of operational processes and systems as well as your proactive response to monitoring the plant and making timely decisions to ensure efficiency and productivity. Skills and Experience To be considered for this role will require: Knowledge and operational experience with Steam Generation, Waste Water Treatment (DAF), Refrigeration, Compressed Air, Packing Gas, Reverse Osmosis, Demin Water, Waste Water Irrigation, and Water Treatment would be ideal. Knowledge and experience with processes and systems, e.g., Food Safety and Quality, HACCP, GMP, ISO. Previous work experience in a similar role within the dairy industry or food manufacturing environment would be advantageous. A National Certificate in Energy and Chemical Plant (Boiler and Process Operation) Enchem Level 3 or Level 4. What's next? Apply now!
