Employee Due Diligence Specialist (9-Month Fixed Term) At ASB, we're all about doing what we can to help our customers get "One Step Ahead" by giving them the tools they need to manage their lives and plans for their families and future. We are seeking a highly skilled Employee Due Diligence (EDD) Specialist to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role will play a key role in safeguarding the bank against fraud and financial crime. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive pre-employment and employee integrity checks, ensuring that all necessary due diligence is performed before onboarding new hires. Your work will involve verifying identities, reviewing employment and education histories, assessing credit ratings, and investigating any criminal activities. You will act as a gatekeeper, ensuring that all due diligence activities comply with ASB's rigorous standards and regulatory requirements, including Financial Crime, the Financial Markets Conduct Act, and AML/CTF regulations. In addition to your technical expertise, you will provide a seamless and confidential candidate experience throughout the due diligence process. Your key responsibilities will include: Conduct thorough pre-employment and employee integrity due diligence checks, including identity verification, employment history, education, credit rating, and criminal activities. Complete all EDD checks prior to onboarding to meet ASB's compliance requirements, including Financial Crime, Financial Markets Conduct Act, AML/CTF regulations. Manage risk effectively by identifying red flags, securing appropriate approvals, and mitigating ASB's exposure to financial crime, money laundering, and terrorism financing. Maintain confidentiality and ensure the integrity and security of EDD documents. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external third-party suppliers to ensure compliance and consistency. Proactively identify and address any risk concerns or issues, demonstrating a continuous learning mindset to prevent future occurrences. Ensure accurate and current reporting and tracking of EDD activities. Support team development through active self-improvement and collaboration. Strong understanding of data management, risk practices, and relevant legislation. Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Word, Outlook, and Excel. Excellent attention to detail, process orientation, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Demonstrated business partnering and stakeholder management skills. A growth mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.
