The Samoan Ministry of Health (MOH) is Samoa's beating heart for wellness. They deliver a wide spectrum of services, from ensuring clean water and sanitation to providing critical surgeries. Their roots go back to 1959, and today, they're driven by the MOH Act 2006 to keep Samoans thriving.
What You'll Do
As a VSA Volunteer, you'll immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Samoa, aiding MOH to build their capacity by training local staff through one-on-one and team sessions, or on-the-job training and mentoring. You will be on-site at their Emergency Department to enable the training and support for existing personnel, increasing the capacity and confidence for the staff in their current skill sets, knowledge base, and subsequent management of patients.
Your Skills and Experiences
Proven experience in Emergency Medicine
Fellow of ACEM or other professional college or Master of Emergency Medicine
Fully registered medical practitioner with the Medical Council or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a constantly changing environment
Proven cultural competency and ability to work in a resource-limited setting
