Electronic Monitoring Team Leader - Upper Hutt About this role Key leadership role to further advance your career Drive performance, mentor colleagues, and develop a team Full time, permanent position located National Operations - Upper Hutt Nga kawenga | About the Role Working at Ara Poutama Department of Corrections is a big responsibility. You will be part of a team of people who are helping to manage and monitor those subject to electronic monitoring within the community, ensuring their safety, and the safety of our people. Our Team Leaders lead and manage a team of Operations Advisers and Seniors, who are responsible for providing electronic monitoring services 24/7 for individuals who might be on bail or subject to a community-based sentence throughout New Zealand. The team electronically monitors approximately 7,000 people across Aotearoa, using GPS and RF monitoring technologies and software. The Team Leader for Electronic Monitoring is pivotal in supporting the development and growth of our Operations and Senior Operations Advisers. You will lead a team of highly talented individuals; we will look to you to bring out the best in them, using your leadership skills to create a high-performing and driven team. The role is varied; on any given day you could be guiding, training, and mentoring to ensure that each team member has the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective monitoring services and that they are making good decisions and feel confident in their abilities. The role operates 24/7 on a rotating roster. You would be on an 8-week rotating shift pattern which includes 3 shift types: morning, afternoon, and nights. You'll be required to work all three shift types during the 8-week pattern. This can take some time to get used to, and it's important for you to think about your commitments outside of work before applying.
