We're on the hunt for experienced, self-motivated, and qualified Electricians to join our team. Reporting to our Engineering Team Leads, this role is based at our manufacturing plant located in Papakura, South Auckland and we are seeking Electricians for our Morning Shift (12.05am-8.05am) & Night Shift (14.15pm-12.15am).Here at Griffin's Snacks, we're proud of our heritage and are New Zealand's largest snack food company, producing many iconic and much-loved kiwi brands, including Griffin's biscuits, Huntley & Palmers crackers, Nice & Natural bars, and ETA potato chips.In this hands-on and fast paced role, the successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the team leader and wider operations team to minimise plant downtime and optimise production efficiency through the prompt diagnosis, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical systems. Safety and best practice methods of NZ standards will be always front of mind.Alongside the day-to-day tasks, this role will have exposure to a range of projects centered around adopting Lean Manufacturing methodologies - we're looking for someone who really thrives on a challenge, proactively seeks new opportunities and who uses their initiative daily!What you'll be responsible for:Diagnostic and repair work to resolve breakdowns.Identifying, planning and implementing productivity initiatives and projects to effectively reduce downtime and improve OE and plant optimisation (of electrical systems).Ensuring planned electrical preventative maintenance and system checks are completed to schedule and in a timely manner.Providing PLC diagnostic and support of PLC systems.Ensuring that all electrical equipment and installations are safe and compliant to AS/NZ standards.Updating all electrical/engineering and other site documentation required.Involved in plant preparation for planned maintenance shutdown work and cleaning programmes.Ensuring all plant and site equipment is operational and ready for production start-up.What you'll bring to the role?A current NZ electrical license/registration (trade qualified).2+ years minimum qualified experience within an industrial environment (food manufacturing/FMCG preferred).Ideally, you'll understand PLC based control systems and networking (Experience with Allen Bradley or Rockwell).Excellent communication and relationship building skills – you are great at keeping everyone in the loop!Accountability – you confidently make (and own!) your decisions.Passion for developing others and sharing knowledge with wider team.Positivity and a solutions-focused approach- nothing is ever a problem!Initiative and ability to self-motivate.Commitment to Health & Safety and ensuring that best practices are followed in the workplace.Eagerness to grow your career with us – you are keen to learn and open to new ideas!In return, you can expect a supportive working environment where you'll feel engaged and valued, with career growth opportunities.
