An exciting opportunity now exists for an Electrician or Electrical Fitter to join our highly collaborative and supportive team. As the Electrician or Electrical Fitter, you will undertake tasks associated with electrical substation construction and maintenance. You will provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective construction, erection, installation, repair, assembly, maintenance, and modification of all types of high voltage and low voltage electrical apparatus.On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):Installing HV and/or LV substation equipmentPlant repair and maintenancePrimary plant testingAuthority to work on equipmentWork site management and participationEquipment control and maintenanceABOUT YOUYou have demonstrable experience in a similar role or in a role with a large Utilities, Construction, or Multi-faceted business. Highly motivated, you possess excellent organisational and time management skills and take pride in your quest for continuous improvement! You have strong experience in a Health & Safety role and enjoy working with multiple stakeholders in a busy, fast-paced environment. Your commitment to surpassing customer expectations will ensure your success in this role.Key Experiences & SkillsFull EWRB electrician registrationExperience in the High Voltage Electrical industry would be an advantage, but not a prerequisiteDemonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a teamAn ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholdersPhysically fit, especially with regards to heavy lifting, stretching, and climbing; maintaining physical fitness to the level required by the position; trained attached climber is an advantage; not afraid of heights; no pacemaker; physically flexible; manual dexterityFull driver's license and experience driving appropriate vehicles in all road, terrain, and weather conditionsAbility to interpret written and spoken English information and translate it into the tasks at hand; fluent verbal English skills; good written English skillsAbility to identify and control hazards and risks; demonstrated high levels of understanding of and adherence to the Health and Safety practices and regulations of the Low Voltage and High Voltage IndustryABOUT VENTIAVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
