Job Description The Opportunity We are looking for a passionate Electrical Tutor to deliver our newly confirmed 2025 Level 3 Pre-Trade Course in Hamilton. This full-time role will be instrumental in supporting student learning and achievement, helping students build a strong foundation for their careers in the electrical industry. Your Key Responsibilities Course Delivery, Assessment, and Development: Deliver and assess approved courses, structured in both block and day release formats. Use recommended course materials and prepare the training centre for effective learning. Mark student work promptly, supporting their progress and meeting deadlines. Provide backup for night classes and other courses as needed. Contribute to the ongoing development of teaching resources. Student Support: Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to students. Monitor student achievements and keep Learning Support Managers, Learning Managers, and Apprentice Mentors informed. Assist the Learning Manager in maintaining training centre facilities and resources. Coordinate with the Learning Manager for any immediate needs (resources, tools, etc.). Support workshop maintenance as required. Health & Safety: Actively promote health, safety, and wellbeing practices. Adhere to Skills Health & Safety policies and legislative requirements. Take responsibility for personal and collective safety. Report all incidents and potential hazards promptly. Desired Skills and Experience Qualifications and skills NZ Electrical Registration (Full Practising License, Inspectors Licence, or Electrical Engineering Degree or similar) – required. Extensive practical experience in the electrical industry. Experience in adult tertiary teaching or training is a plus (training support provided). Solid understanding of learning theories, student engagement, and curriculum planning. Experience in people management or supervisory roles.
