Shape Energy, a forward-thinking Microgrid company located in New Zealand, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager with expertise in solar PV, inverter technology and large commercial or industrial grade installations. As an Electrical Project Manager specialising in microgrids at Shape Energy, you will be a vital contributor to the delivery of cutting-edge energy solutions, shaping the future of sustainable energy practices. We have a large forward work programme, we are well funded and have amazing blue-chip client projects ready to deliver – we need you!Key Responsibilities:Plan, develop and manage microgrid and solar energy projectsCoordinate and oversee project staff, contracts and supply chain.Manage project progress to ensure budget, quality, programme and client expectations are managed to contract requirements.Cost control and financial reporting will be key to ensuring managing the internal stakeholder team – do you know your numbers?Client engagement and management: including reports, design change approvals and driving a 'one team' approach to all project deliverables.Driving for health, safety and environmental excellence through the entire project phase and working with your team to ensure culture and accountability.Key SkillsExperience in managing delivery of microgrid systems, with a focus on solar arrays, battery energy storage and systems control.Strong knowledge of power electronics components, including inverters, and control systemsStrong commercial and financial acumen with experience in NZS 3916 or 3917 required.Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, execution, and resource allocation.Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.Clear understanding of working at heights requirement.Preferred Qualifications:Qualified electrician or electrical inspector with current registration, or relevant electrical engineering tertiary diploma or degreeExperience in renewable energy: solar + wind, battery storage, or grid integration.Background in optimising design and power electronics for efficiency and reliability.
