Electrician/Assistant Electricians
We are looking for a dynamic, registered electrician, who has a hands-on experience in execution of Electrical-for-Mechanical projects. It will be a permanent role in our budding organization, that is operating in the niche E4M segment, bringing in decades of experience in secondary power distribution and controls.
We are looking for a dedicated professional, who can independently manage a small team of experienced technicians and sub-contractors and can supervise multiple medium-to-small scale projects across Auckland.
Primary tasks and duties include :-
Planning, executing and commissioning of multiple Electrical-for-Mechanical projects for key-accounts who are major mechanical contractors in NZ, meeting stringent budget and time constraints.
Being first-point-of-contact for assigned project, liaising with various functions at site, incl. client's project manager, builder and H&S supervisor.
Evaluates electrical plans, specifications and schedules issued by the design-office; applying knowledge of local electrical regulations and standards. Ensure full knowledge and compliance to AS/NZ3000 wiring rules.
Plan and execute electrical works while adhering to H&S requirements of the company as well as specific to the site. Compliance to SSSP.
Maintain and assure quality of work carried out. Responsible for maintaining QA records, update client's site supervisor and conducting weekly walk-throughs with client and office management.
Commission electrical systems, carry out relevant tests and issue certificate of compliance after conducting a thorough due diligence as per company's regulations.
Maintain healthy relations with client as well as across the verticals of company, including design, project management and marketing.
Review and sign-off on project completion documentation including test-reports and as-builts
Manage team productivity score by meeting forecasted milestones and working to improve the same.
Responsible for safety and regulatory requirements for the team members, including training, licensing etc.
Technical competencies required: -
Able to conduct load calculations for single and three phase loads.
Understand and review electrical & control schematics, single-line-diagrams, load calculations, mechanical drawings, cable schedules and other documents required.
Hands-on experience on electrical and controls wiring of commercial HVAC systems incl. ACs, Fans, Heaters, AHUs, Dampers. Installation and wiring of commercial instrumentation and controls incl. sensors, thermostats, lightings, switches, speed-controllers etc.
Hands-on experience on installing and wiring of mechanical distribution boards using electrical schematics. Experience in wiring of controllers, PLCs etc.
Should be able to select and install MCBs, Relays and Contactors of correct rating. Should be able to verify cable-selection for given application. Should have acumen to develop and implement control logic.
Knowledge and Usage of Hand Tools
Certification –
NZQA equiv. Level 06 or more in Electrical trades
Should hold an EWRB practicing Electrical Engineer license
Should hold a Site Safe Passport for Electrical Workers
Should hold a full Driver's license.
