We're gearing up for our busiest period with summer around the corner and require superstar visitor hosts to join our team. As the museum hosts, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and exceptional service delivery to our visitors, while displaying strong customer service skills, excellent organizational abilities, and the ability to thrive in a solo environment.
Here's a snapshot of what may keep you busy:
Greet and engage with all visitors to the Edwin Fox
Deliver site introductions and education to visitors while communicating the story
Handle incoming calls, general inquiries, and any onsite activity
Maintain documentation and perform daily inspections of premises
Process payments and manage shop stock
Keep the museum tidy and presentable
Promote Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga and its properties
Adhere to health and safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
We are seeking to fill two positions who will job share the weekend shifts, preferably working 4 hours per day. There may be opportunity for more work on cruise ship days and leave cover for other staff.

A wage range of $25.00 to $28.00 per hour (this will depend on the knowledge, skills, and experience you have to offer)

This role requires someone with:
Experience in hospitality and/or customer service
A passion for history and/or preservation
Eligible New Zealand working rights
Flexibility to undertake various tasks
A positive attitude, and (ideally) a good sense of humour
Initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work well under pressure
The ability to work over Christmas/New Year and weekends (to support the team with peak visitor numbers)
