MTG Hawke's Bay has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate and engaged Educator to join our Visitor Engagement team.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 8 hours per day, 32 hours per week Monday - Thursday.As an Educator at MTG Hawke's Bay, you'll have the unique opportunity to design and deliver captivating educational programmes, workshops and displays that ignite curiosity and deepen understanding of our collections.
Your creativity will shine as you bring history and art to life through our education programme, making every visit an unforgettable learning experience.This role is also responsible for developing and delivering programmes for other groups such as school holiday programmes, after school programmes, visitor tours and more throughout the entire year.
This is a busy role and requires a creative, energetic, positive person who loves to engage as an educator and thrives on having a positive impact on students' learning outcomes in an education-rich, inspiring setting.What You'll Do:Develop and deliver dynamic educational programs tailored to various age groups and backgrounds.Collaborate with the curatorial team to create interactive and immersive learning experiences.Lead engaging tours, workshops, and activities that encourage hands-on exploration.Foster a love for learning by making art, history, and culture accessible and exciting for all.Contribute to the continuous improvement of educational offerings through feedback and innovation.What You'll Bring:You are a passionate person with an innovative and collaborative approach to learning.
You will also have:Proven experience in developing learning opportunities for students aged 5 to 18 years.Recent experience in a teaching environment.Detailed understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum.Excellent understanding of Te Titiriti o Waitangi.Enthusiasm for engaging with diverse audiences and a knack for connecting with people of all ages.Teaching Qualifications Would Be An Advantage.If you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Hawke's Bay's young people in a unique teaching role, then we want to hear from you!
