The role/Te mahi This newly created role will focus on assisting teaching staff to effectively utilise technology in a range of learning environments. As Educational Technologist, you will report directly to the Head of Academic Teaching Development and will promote innovative teaching and assessment methods, design sustainable learning resources, and support the shift to effective distance learning. You'll lead professional development on emerging educational technologies and collaborate on key projects to drive educational innovation across the university. Key responsibilities will include: Bringing effective use of learning technologies into instructional design within a tertiary setting. Developing sustainable, high-quality learning and assessment resources using evidence-based design principles. Forming and maintaining relationships with staff and divisions across campuses. Providing tailored workshops, focussing on emerging educational technology. Your skills and experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheako To be successful in this role you will have: A passion for digital technology, backed by a degree in a relevant field. Awareness of existing and emerging digital learning technologies. Understanding of instructional design and the ability to upskill others in a tertiary setting. Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and spoken communication. Ability to work with others in a culturally sensitive way. Ability to initiate and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Further details/Puroko This is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours) position, based in Dunedin. The appointment range for this role is $75,380 to $84,656. Top of range $94,075 per annum. We offer competitive salary, 5 weeks' annual leave, a 6.75% superannuation scheme, and excellent professional development opportunities.
