We're looking for an Editor to join Stuff Digital's National team and help maintain Stuff's No.1 position in this highly competitive category.
To be successful in this role, you will be: In the centralised live news desk, the Editor - Daily News will collectively direct a large team to give Stuff's audience the news it needs, whenever and however it wants it. Operates with agility and finesse, orchestrating multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure seamless delivery of live, breaking and trending news across text, audio, video and supporting platforms.Lead a team of reporters within the live news operation and help drive the coverage of the biggest stories for the biggest audiences.Generate ideas and ensure the live news desk actively breaks original content, informed by audience metrics.Key requirements include: An experienced newsroom leader with exceptional editorial judgement - always thinking audience-firstA fountain of fresh and innovative ideasFosters young talent and supports journalists to be at the top of their gameBold and brave - unafraid to experiment, test and surpriseExperience commissioning and producing a wide range of multi-platform content to perfectionAbility to work across the business collaboratively, with an understanding of company goals and how to deliver them togetherInfluentialAble to work unsupervised and independentlyThe capacity to always drive and protect a positive, safe, inclusive workplaceStrong journalistic skills including the ability to write and self-editSolid knowledge of media law, guidelines, principles and standardsData-fluent: Understands audience metrics and continually upskills to grow knowledgeIs a team player, and an exceptional human.Think you can do the job?
