Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW), is the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. Our Early Childcare Education Centres – Waiapu Kids are located across eight locations in Bay of Plenty, Tairawhiti and Hawkes Bay and offer safe, nurturing and educational environments for children and whanau to thrive under the umbrella of Anglican Care Waiapu. We are looking for a professional and energetic ECE Teaching Assistant to join our experienced team at Waiapu Kids Merivale Whanau Aroha Centre based in Merivale. This is a permanent part time position, 25 hours per week working Monday to Friday.
Mo te turanga | About the role Waiapu Kids Merivale Whanau Aroha Centre is a well-established community based Early Childhood Education Centre, offering high quality education and care in a safe and compassionate play based environment. We cater for up to 43 tamariki aged from 6 months to 6 years.
You'll be part of a close-knit team who are passionate about nurturing children's development through stimulating, fun and enriched interest-based learning. Positive, respectful relationships with each other, our whanau, tamariki and community are important to us and integral to who we are.
As an ECE Teaching Assistant you will assist and support ECE Teachers with the delivery of the early childhood education curriculum Te Whariki and tasks to ensure the efficient and safe day-to-day running of our Centre for the children who attend. You will also demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi and bi-cultural practice. The role requires a person with a strong values base and who conducts themselves with integrity, professionalism, and care.
