Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW), is the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. Our Early Childcare Education Centres – Waiapu Kids are located across eight locations in Bay of Plenty, Tairawhiti and Hawkes Bay and offer safe, nurturing, and educational environments for children and whanau to thrive.
Due to one of our amazing ECE Teachers relocating, we now have an opportunity for someone equally amazing to join our team at Waiapu Kids St Francis Whanau Aroha. We are an experienced, energetic and professional team based in Rotorua. This is a permanent teaching position for 30 hours per week and may suit a student who is due to qualify as a teacher at the end of 2024.

Waiapu Kids St Francis Whanau Aroha is a well-established Early Childhood Education Centre, offering high quality education and care in a safe and compassionate play based, environment catering for up to 42 tamariki aged from birth to 6 years in a mixed age setting.

You'll be part of a close-knit team who are passionate about nurturing children's development through stimulating, fun and enriched interest-based learning. Positive, respectful relationships with each other, our whanau, tamariki and community are important to us and integral to who we are.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day education, well-being, and health and safety of children attending our centre; ensuring provision of education and care to service standards. You will also demonstrate a commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi and bi-cultural practice and meet the Teaching Council's required Teaching Standards. You will have a strong values base and conduct yourself with integrity, professionalism, and care.

You may be an experienced ECE Teacher or a student who is due to qualify as a teacher at the end of the year. You'll be someone who enjoys creating opportunities for children to explore, experiment and problem solve, allowing them to grow to their full potential.
Your passion for children and learning will be underpinned by your natural ability to communicate and build strong nurturing relationships with our Tamariki and whanau. With endless amounts of energy and enthusiasm you will become a valuable team player always willing to go the extra mile.
Key Requirements:
Ideally, you will have an ECE or Primary qualification recognised by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand and a full or provisional registration. We may consider a student who is due to complete their qualification at the end of 2024.
You will also have:
A love and passion for working with children and their whanau
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong professional ethics
Ability to work effectively within a team and a commitment to excellent early childhood practice
The ability to build relationships and work in partnership with a variety of external and internal stakeholders including parents, families/whanau, community, Iwi, other social services, our church partners
A willingness to embrace the Anglican Care Waiapu values and mission
Knowledge and practice of Te Whariki and MOE Licensing Criteria
