BestStart Oamaru Kindy is seeking a passionate Caregiver to join our energetic and tight-knit team. Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community.
BestStart Oamaru Kindy is situated in a lovely old, converted villa which creates a nice, homely feel for the children and families attending our centre. We have a large, sheltered and private playground. Our centre vision "Learning as we play, growing as we learn together" highlights our focus on growing children's social skills and learning through play.
We are a collaborative team working in a small 35 license centre and love to make the most of each team member's strengths and passions. Each member of our team plans and provides fun learning experiences to extend children's skills and knowledge.

About the Role:
This role will be 20 hours per week, 8am - 12pm, Monday-Friday, with the possibility of additional hours to help cover leave.
This is a fixed-term position from October 2024 - August 2025 to cover parental leave. There is a high chance of this role becoming a permanent position.
A big part of this role each day will be supporting children as they say goodbye to their whanau and settle into kindy, so we are looking for someone gentle and kind who can relate well to children.

Reporting to our Centre Manager and working within a close-knit team, you will be joining a dedicated team of Teachers who provide quality care and education to our tamariki.
Here's what you'll do on a day-to-day basis:
Provide amazing care and education to our tamariki
Champion the team spirit and engage in activities that empower and extend tamariki learning
Fully participate in centre activities across all classrooms and cover staff breaks where necessary
Support centre operations at all levels
Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. An ECE qualification is not required for this role, but a natural affinity with children – especially infants and toddlers, and experience working with children under five is a must. You'll also have a high level of initiative and an ability to take direction from others. We are looking for someone energetic and fun-loving who is passionate about working as part of a team to help children thrive.
