Hei Whakarapopototanga | Job Summary We are looking for a passionate and experienced early years educator who wants to make a difference and work in a space that champions the mantra of 'about Maori, by Maori, with Maori, and for Maori'. If this is you, you will be warmly welcomed into the team at Mamia along with your kete matauranga (skills, experiences, creativity, and proficiency) to contribute to what we have created at Mamia. For instance, this includes championing our values of wahinetanga, whakamana, hauora, and whanaungatanga. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, te ao Maori, tikanga Maori, matauranga Maori, and kaupapa Maori. This early years learning role and its provision is unique and will be embedded in and integral to implementing and actualizing Nukutia, alongside and in partnership with all Kaimahi at Mamia. Te Turanga me nga Haepapa | The Role and Responsibilities Working in partnership and collaboration with tamaiti, whanau and Kaimahi at Mamia.Being attuned to the developmental needs and stages of tamaiti/tamariki and their whanau.Supporting Nukutia, our place-based and marautanga (curriculum) supported by kaupapa Maori, and developmental theory.Documenting and planning.Applying Mamia frameworks and systems.Incorporating kaupapa Maori, tikanga Maori, and matauranga Maori practices into daily routines and interactions.Familiarising with and incorporating Te Kete Aroha, the Mamia kaupapa Maori engagement, interaction, monitoring and evaluation tool into practice and monitoring tamariki engagement. Tohu Matauranga | Qualifications Relevant qualification and in-depth knowledge in early years practice and settings.Te ao Maori, kaupapa Maori, matauranga Maori, tikanga Maori experience including but not limited to Te Kohanga Reo settings. Nga Pukenga | Skills Proficiency in te ao Maori cultural practices, principles and values.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with tamariki, whanau, community, and colleagues.Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Huanga Whaiaro | Personal Attributes Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to various educational settings and philosophies.
