This is a full-time, fixed term or secondment opportunity, parental leave position from 20 January based at our Masterton office, supporting learners in the Wairarapa.
As an Early Intervention Teacher, you will play a critical role in our region's Learning Support team by:
Providing high quality learning support in line with the Ministry's practice framework He Pikorua guiding principles, strands, and goals of Te Whariki: Early Childhood Curriculum, and Te Whariki a te Kohanga Reo.Building and strengthening the capability of those who are best placed to support children's learning such as parents, teachers and whanau | families.Understanding the families' needs, collaboratively planning, supporting, and monitoring the implementation of intervention plans.Supporting transition points in the child's learning pathway, such as transition into early childhood education and to school as required.Working as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child's needs are complex.Salary range: $69,996 - $118,450 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience. Benefits include:

A Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood).A post-graduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching, Early Intervention endorsed, is preferable.A minimum of three years teaching experience and a deep knowledge of child development, learning and behaviour.An understanding of a range of needs and disabilities and their implications for daily functioning in family life and for teaching and learning in the context of early childhood and family homes.The ability to develop and interact effectively with people of other cultures focusing on relationship and recognising their identity, language, and culture as a source of strength.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with akonga | learners, whanau | families and kaiako | teachers across a diverse range of settings.The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.A full current driver's licence is essential.
