About the role We require a qualified Occupational Therapist, preferably with experience in early childhood intervention and family centred practice, to join our trans-disciplinary team, which includes Speech-Language Therapists, Physio and Occupational Therapists, Early Intervention Teachers, Peer Support Workers/Tuakana, consultant Psychologists and Education Support Workers (ESW).
This is a specialised position which requires a holistic view of early intervention for children with developmental delays or disabilities, and a focus on all areas of child development, family support and advocacy. You will be involved in assessments, individual and group intervention, often centre-based but also community based, and workshop presentations.

Skills and experience You will have a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and be eligible for membership of your professional organisation. At least two years' experience working alongside people with a disability in a health or education role is preferred. Experience working in early childhood intervention or paediatric occupational therapy is highly desirable, and an understanding of the importance of working in partnership with families is crucial. Enable accredited for complex housing, personal cares and seating level 1 would also be desirable. Experience working in a trans disciplinary team and/or family centred practiceYou will also have a current driver's licence.Applicants must hold New Zealand residency or have a current New Zealand work permit.
