We are currently looking for a mental health clinician to provide counselling services through the TELUS Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Our EAP service provides short-term counselling to a diverse set of clients dealing with various personal issues that may or may not be work-related. Services are delivered face-to-face, and online via telephone and video sessions.
Core Responsibilities: Providing confidential counselling services to employees facing personal or work-related challenges. Conducting assessments to understand clients' needs and develop appropriate treatment plans. Offering short-term counselling or crisis intervention to address immediate issues. Referring clients to external resources or specialists for long-term support if needed. Collaborating with other professionals to support employees' well-being. Maintaining accurate records of counselling sessions while ensuring client confidentiality. Staying updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in counselling and mental health support. Providing consultation to managers and supervisors on handling employee-related issues sensitively and effectively. Practicing self-care and seeking supervision or support when dealing with challenging cases. What We Are Looking For: Qualifications in Counselling or Psychology. Professional registration with the relevant health professional body (Counsellors: NZAC, Psychologist: NZPB). Minimum three (3) years counselling experience. Ability to clinically manage client risk, and work within a short-term counselling framework. Confidence with computer systems is an asset.
