Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral) is part of Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.

The Opportunity

A Duty Nurse Manager is a nurse with experience working clinically and managerially at a senior level, with strong leadership qualities.
The successful applicant will undertake senior clinical nursing functions such as supporting staff to care for the deteriorating patients across the hospital, attending MET calls and responding to escalation alerts through the VRM warning system. In addition they will develop their knowledge of the operational management of the hospital covering hospital bed management, staff management and patient flow.

This is a permanent 0.8 FTE role working rostered and rotating through all the shifts and through both the clinical and operational roles.
