Duty Manager & Events Co-Ordinator

Whisky and Wood is looking for an experienced Duty Manager & Events Co-Ordinator to join our talented team on a contract basis. Based in the heart of Te Aro, Wellington, this role will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our event venues and co-ordinating all aspects of our corporate and private event bookings.What you'll be doingManage the day-to-day operations of our event venues, ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless experience for all guests.Co-ordinate event logistics, including liaising with clients, organising staff, managing equipment and overseeing set-up and pack-down.Supervise and mentor a staff of casual & part-timers, providing training and support as needed.Maintain accurate event records, including communicating & coordinating with guests, stock management, staffing schedules and post-event analysis.Collaborate with the management team to identify new event opportunities and support business development initiatives.Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations.What we're looking forMinimum 2 years' experience in a similar events management or duty management role, ideally within the hospitality, wedding or events industry.Exceptional customer service and communication skills, we're yes people, always here to provide exceptional customer service and to make people happy!Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.Experience in supervising and leading a team, with a focus on developing and empowering staff.A passion for the events industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.Proficiency in using event management software and other relevant digital tools.Professional presentation, good emotional maturity & intelligence.
