About us: The Dunedin Emergency Veterinary Clinic aims to serve the entire Dunedin area, alleviating the burden on local clinics. Initially, the clinic will operate out of an existing veterinary facility, with plans to move into dedicated premises in the near future. Our operating hours are proposed to be from 6pm to 7am, seven days a week (from 4.30pm Saturdays), 7am to 6pm Sundays and public holidays. (Note: Operating hours may be adjusted upon recruitment and once we transition to our own location.)
During all open hours, the clinic will be staffed by experienced veterinary nurses. A veterinarian will be on-site from 6pm to 12am and on-call from 12am to 7am. Nurses will triage all calls, and we will offer critical care services to hospitalise and monitor patients overnight.
Wages and shifts: Day shift: $65 - $85 per hourNight shift: $95 - $105 per hourOn-call retainer: $150 + hourly rate if called inWages are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Shift lengths will vary within the clinic's operating hours, with a maximum shift length of 12 hours.Type of work: We are seeking full-time, part-time, and casual veterinary staff. Candidates should possess significant experience; emergency experience is preferred.
