Job Overview Are you an experienced Duct Fitter looking for a rewarding opportunity? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team for the installation and fabrication of air conditioning ducts on both commercial and residential construction projects.
Qualifications and Skills Required: Ideally 3 years experience in New Zealand
Solid understanding of ducting fabrication and installation principles
Ability to read and design plans for building heating and cooling systems
A mixture of installation and fabrication experience is ideal
Experience on large/complex construction sites
Responsibilities: Work at various heights and levels, including overhead ducting installations
Skilfully fit and weld air conditioning ducts when required
Analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material and equipment requirements
Select metal stock (stainless steel, galvanized iron, mild steel, aluminium, and copper) ensuring compliance with size, gauges, and dimensions
Precisely cut metal stock using hand and power shears, lasers, plasma cutters, and drills
Shape and form metal stock with folding and bending machines, rollers, presses, and hammers
Assemble components into final products with welding, riveting, soldering, brazing, and other joining techniques
Apply finishing touches to enhance product quality, including polishing, filing, sanding, and thorough cleaning
Specialise in fabrication, on-site assembly, installation, or decorative copperwork
Interpret engineering production drawings accurately and utilise production equipment effectively
Participate in metal smelting, ceramic firing, mineral ore processing, casting, and wire drawing
