Duct Fabricator / Installer
Are you a skilled Duct Fabricator / Installer with expertise in metal fitting and welding?
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team for the installation and fabrication of air conditioning ducts on both commercial and residential construction projects, with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:

Install and set up sheet metal ducting according to specifications.
Accurately interpret blueprints and drawings for ducting layouts.
Work at various heights and levels, including overhead ducting installations.
Skilfully fit and weld air conditioning ducts when required.
Analyse blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material and equipment requirements.
Select metal stock (stainless steel, galvanized iron, mild steel, aluminium, and copper) ensuring compliance with size, gauges, and dimensions.
Precisely cut metal stock using hand and power shears, lasers, plasma cutters, and drills.
Shape and form metal stock with folding and bending machines, rollers, presses, and hammers.
Assemble components into final products with welding, riveting, soldering, brazing, and other joining techniques.
Apply finishing touches to enhance product quality, including polishing, filing, sanding, and thorough cleaning.
Specialize in fabrication, on-site assembly, installation, or decorative copperwork.
Interpret engineering production drawings accurately and utilize production equipment effectively.
Participate in metal smelting, ceramic firing, mineral ore processing, casting, and wire drawing.
3 years of relevant experience is required.

Positions are currently available across multiple regions of New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. Workers may be required to travel between these locations as operational needs arise. The employer will cover all necessary travel expenses and accommodation when relocation is required. However, if a worker chooses not to relocate when requested, they will remain in their current location.
