Waipapa Pine is a leading provider of high-quality timber products located in the beautiful Northland area. We have two sawmills, one in Waipapa near Kerikeri in the gorgeous Bay of Islands, and another in Whangarei. Based at our Waipapa mill, this position supervises and looks after our Drymill team, ensuring that production is maximised, while also ensuring that our people are safe, motivated, and fully trained.The supervisor will develop strategies to improve processing performance, safety, quality and employee development.This is a result-oriented role, ensuring that health and safety, production, recovery and quality goals are achieved through effective employee management, utilisation of resources and observation of company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring there is the highest level of H&S compliance and low level of lost time injuries. Leading, motivating, training and developing the drymill team members Ensuring there is a high level of employee morale and a positive general work area atmosphere, while still ensuring that H&S, productivity, quality are at the highest levels and there is a low level of absenteeism Providing open communication across the company regarding plant, machinery, employee and safety issues. Ensuring open communication with direct reports via daily review meetings and weekly toolbox meetings Ensuring a high standard of presentation and accuracy in documentation at all times ensuring deadlines are met. Optimising production resources and achieving daily production targets. Develop weekly production plans and coordinator between operational areas.

Qualifications Ideally Level 4 NZQA in Solid Wood Manufacturing P revious experience in a supervisory role, and ideally previously completed supervisory or leadership course Experience in timber grading Gathering data and interpreting outcomes Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams and communicate at all levels of the business. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
