Driver / Trades Assistant

Pace Engineering Ltd is an experienced, privately owned, mechanical engineering company. Our well-equipped, purpose-built workshops based in Taranaki, the heart of New Zealand's energy province, offers total engineering services to a broad client base.
We're seeking an experienced Driver / Trades Assistant to join our team.
This role involves operating Pace Engineering trucks, forklifts, T-lifts, and other equipment to transport PEL and client materials and machinery. Additionally, the position requires providing general labour support to tradesmen when not driving or performing yard work. The ideal candidate will be versatile, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently in both driving and hands-on tasks.
To be successful in this role, you will need :
At minimum, a Class 4 driver's licence
At least 2 years' experience as a Truck Driver
Experience with Truck Mounted Crane operation - preferably with Truck Mounted Crane operation tickets (Training can be given to the right applicant)
Experience with rigging and slinging loads
A good level of physical fitness and be able to handle the demands of the job
Experience in an engineering environment an advantage
