Immediate Start Rangitikei/Whanganui area based role Work for a reputable company We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Class 4 Driver for an immediate start to join our Rangitikei-based team.
This role will last for approximately 6 weeks and involves the safe transport of leachate from landfill sites to approved treatment or disposal facilities.
You will operate heavy vehicles, including tankers, in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Tanker experience is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities : Leachate Transport : Safely operate Class 4 vehicles (including tankers) to transport leachate between landfill sites, treatment plants, or disposal facilities.
Loading & Unloading : Handle the setup and operation of leachate pumping systems for loading and unloading tanks, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and preventing spillage.
Compliance : Adhere to all local, regional, and national regulations regarding hazardous waste transport.
Ensure full compliance with company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and Department of Transport guidelines.
Qualifications : Class 4 License : Valid Class 4 driver's license with a clean driving record.
Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy vehicles, preferably within the waste management, environmental, or transportation sectors.
Tanker experience is highly preferred .
Health & Safety Awareness : Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, including handling of hazardous materials and waste management protocols.
Physical Fitness : Ability to lift, carry, and operate heavy hoses and fittings used in liquid transfer.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Communication Skills : Strong verbal communication and the ability to follow instructions.
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Working Conditions : Days of Work : The position will follow a Monday-Friday schedule , with a half day on Saturday .
Outdoor Environment : Frequent outdoor work, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands : Regularly lifting hoses and equipment, climbing in and out of the vehicle, and being on your feet for extended periods.
Requirements : Right to work in New Zealand : Applicants must be able to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand.
Pre-employment Drug Test : Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Clean MOJ Check : A clean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check is required. "
