About New Zealand Blood Service
New Zealand Blood and Organ Service (NZBS) is dedicated to saving lives. Every year, tens of thousands of generous people donate their time, blood and plasma to us for free. In addition to our vein to vein service in transfusion we also provide national services in organ transplantation, cellular therapies and tissue banking. We exist to ensure the efficient delivery of safe blood and tissue products on a time critical basis throughout New Zealand and through the generosity of our donors, we are able to help save lives.
Our shared values are at the heart of our organisation's culture and guide our behaviour each and every day. These values inspire, motivate us and drive us to provide the very best service to the New Zealand public.
About the role
At NZBS, Donor Technicians work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and are key members of the Collections team, undertaking blood collection and a number of administrative duties.
As our donors are healthy and go out of their way to give up their time to donate blood, customer service is key to ensuring the donors are provided with a donation experience that encourages their continued support.
The hours will generally be rostered duties Monday to Saturday, with some varying lengths of days so flexibility is required. Occasional statutory holiday duties may also be required.
Salary starting from $62,677 - $80,491 depending on skills, registration, and experience.
About you
We are looking for hardworking and values-driven people who want a challenge and are keen to learn. We'll teach you and you can eventually be qualified as a Qualified Donor Technician (MLPAT) with full or provisional registration. If you're already qualified, then even better!
Ideally you are:
