An Auckland-based family is seeking a dedicated domestic worker to assist with housekeeping, cooking, childcare, and elder care. The role involves maintaining the household, preparing meals, caring for a young child, and providing companionship and support to an elderly family member.
Requirements
Relevant experience as a domestic worker is preferable
Fluency in Taiwanese and Mandarin is essential, as the elderly family member's first language is Taiwanese, and we wish to teach our child those languages.
Must be in good health and of good character
Excellent time management skills.
Must be loving, affectionate, and able to interact well with a young child, including reading and reciting ancient Chinese poems and stories, teaching basic preschool skills, and writing Chinese characters.
Provide companionship and engage in recreational activities with the elderly family member. Must also be skilled in performing massages with care and sensitivity to the needs.
Good cooking skills in Chinese dishes, able to make both Chinese and Western pastries
Preferably experienced in caring for little children
Experience in caring for children with allergies, eczema and other special needs.
Must have good driving skills to safely pick up and drop off family members as needed.
Must be willing to work flexible and extended hours when necessary.
Job duties:
Prepare three meals a day and morning and afternoon snacks for the family.
Prepare balanced meals using fresh ingredients, ensuring variety with three dishes and one soup per meal, without repetition throughout the week.
Dust and vacuum the interior of the house.
Maintain a clean and tidy garden, kitchen, and bathroom.
Feed, bathe, and dress the child, apply body lotion, and perform child massage exercises.
Handwash all the child's clothes, towels, and bedding, and disinfect bottles, toys, and plush items.
Organize the child's clothes by colour, material, season, and size, and fold them neatly.
Accompany the child during swimming, music and other private sessions.
Dusting, laundry and vacuuming.
